Exhibition Museum the Casteelse Poort

For one hundred years, the Laboratory of Entomology at Wageningen University has been studying insects and their role in nature, agriculture, and society. To mark this anniversary, Museum De Casteelse Poort presents an exhibition exploring a century of insect research: from microscopes and fieldwork to surprising insights that remain highly relevant today.

In the exhibition, you will discover how scientists study insects, why they are so important for our food supply and biodiversity, and how this research has evolved over the past hundred years. Wonder, knowledge, and contemporary questions come together in a story that starts small – with an insect – and ends big.

Come and see ‘The great importance of small creatures – 100 Years of the Laboratory of Entomology!’
